ABSTRACT:
A high-gloss coated paper can be produced by coating a paper or a prime-coated paper with an aqueous coating solution comprising a synthetic polymer latex (A) having a glass transition temperature of at least 38.degree. C. and a synthetic polymer latex (B) having a glass transition temperature of 5.degree. to 25.degree. C. in a weight ratio of 1:0.1 to 1:1 in terms of solid content, drying the coated paper, and then bringing the coated surface into contact with a hot calender under pressure at a temperature not lower than the glass transition temperature of the synthetic polymer latex (A), thereby forming a mirror-finishing on the surface of the coated paper.
