ABSTRACT:
A boron-containing powder in an amount of up to 25% by weight is mixed with a metal powder (e.g. steel) and the mixture is compacted in a mold to at least 80% of theoretical density. The compact is sintered at 700.degree. to 1300.degree. C. under a protective atmosphere or vacuum to yield a hard, wear-resistant body.
