ABSTRACT:
.epsilon.-caprolactone-modified hydroxyalkyl acrylate or methyacrylate can be effectively produced from .epsilon.-caprolactone and a hydroxyalkyl acrylate or methacrylate in the presence of a stannous halide as a catalyst. The obtained monomer is used together with another copolymerizable monomer to produce a copolymer which is suitable for coating and photocurable composition.
