ABSTRACT:
A process for producing a corrosion-, heat- and oxidation-resistant shaped rticle which comprises coating a shaped article composed of at least one material selected from metals, carbonaceous substances and ceramics with a coating composition comprising a semi-inorganic compound, and heat-treating the coated article, said semi-inorganic compound being at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polycarbosilanes and polycarbosiloxanes.
