ABSTRACT:
A process for producing an acid agent which comprises reaction of sulphonated phenol and formaldehyde in an "ideal" displacement reactor at a temperature within the range of from 50.degree. to 120.degree. C. at a constant molar ratio of said components. The reaction may be carried out in the presence of additives such as urea or orthophosphoric acid.
The process according to the present invention has an increased productivity at reduced power and labor inputs as compared to the prior art processes.
