ABSTRACT:
A process is described for reacting substituted N-alkoxy-2,6-dinitroanilines with a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl halide, or a C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkenyl halide, in the presence of sodium hydride, to yield substituted N-alkoxy-N-substituted-2,6-dinitroanilines, which are active as herbicides.
