ABSTRACT:
A pyrogallol compound of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each represent hydrogen or alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms, or a salt thereof, is prepared by hydrolyzing the corresponding 2,2,6,6-tetrachlorocyclohexanone or 2,2,6,6-tetrabromocyclohexanone.
