ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to an economic and environmentally clean process for the preparation of the pyridinium salt of fluorotrioxo-chromate (VI), PFC, having the chemical formula C5H5NH[CrO3F], by direct reaction of stoichiometric amounts of hydrofluoric acid, chromium trioxide and pyridine demonstrating approxomately 100% atom economy.
