ABSTRACT:
Described is a method for producing the substantially pure compound defined according to the structure: ##STR1## and uses thereof in augmenting or enhancing the aroma of perfume compositions, colognes and perfumed articles such as perfumed polymers and solid or liquid anionic, cationic, nonionic or zwitterionic detergents, fabric softener compositions and fabric softener articles. Also described are processes and compositions for use in perfume aroma augmenting, enhancing, modifying and altering compositions and as perfume, cologne and perfumed article aroma imparting compositions of mixtures of the compound having the structure: ##STR2## taken further together with one or more butanolyl cyclohexane derivatives and/or 3-methyl-1-phenyl-pentanol-5.
The process for preparing the compound having the structure: ##STR3## involves a one-step reaction wherein the compound having the structure: ##STR4## is hydrogenated in the presence of acid.
