ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a process for preparing organosilanes of the general formula 1in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R3Si—R′,  (1)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?in which hydrosilanes of the general formula 2in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R3Si—H  (2)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?are reacted with halohydrocarbons of the general formula 3in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R′—X  (3)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?whereR are monovalent C1–C18hydrocarbon radicals, hydrogen or halogen,R′ are monovalent C1–C18hydrocarbon radicals andX is halogen,in the presence of a free-radical initiator which is selected from alkanes, diazenes and organodisilanes.
