ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a process for preparing N-protected 2-aminoethanethiol which proceeds via the silyl covered sulfur intermediate: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is triorganosilyl and R.sup.2 is a readily removable N-protecting group.
