ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides a process for preparing an N,N′-dialkoxy-N,N′-dialkyl oxamide represented by the formula (3):wherein R2and R3may be the same or different from each other, and each represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms,which comprises reacting an oxalic acid diester represented by the formula (1):wherein R1and R1′may be the same or different from each other, and each represent a hydrocarbon group,and an N-alkyl-O-alkylhydroxylamine represented by the formula (2):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R2O—NHR3  (2)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?wherein R2and R3have the same meanings as defined above,or an acid salt thereof in the presence of a base.
