ABSTRACT:
A new process is disclosed for the synthesis of fluconazole monohydrate and for crystal modifications of fluconazole which comprises the step ofhydrolyzing a silyl ether of the formula (II) whereinR2is hydrogen, or a C1to C10alkyl or phenyl group, R3and R4independently of each other are a C1to C10alkyl or phenyl group in an aqueous solution, preferably at a pH below 3 or above 8.
