ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing a lankacidine carbamate derivative of the formula ##STR1## or a salt thereof, by the reaction of a lankacidine 8-substituted carbonate with an amine, wherein R.sub.1 is a hydroxy group or an alkanoyloxy group; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted lower alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or a phenyl group; or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 together with an adjacent nitrogen atom to which they bond form an optionally substituted heterocyclic group.
