ABSTRACT:
Process for preparing chloranil by the oxidative chlorination of a quinone or of a hydroquinone with a hydrochloric acid/hydrogen peroxide mixture, the introduction of hydrogen peroxide being carried out at a temperature above 60.degree. C.
