ABSTRACT:
A carboxylic acid anhydride such as acetic anhydride, is prepared from a carboxylate ester or a hydrocarbyl ether in carbonylation processes comprising the use of an iodide, carbon monoxide and a nickel-chromium catalyst in the presence of a tin promoter.
