ABSTRACT:
A process for preparation of a metal carbide-containing molded product which comprises heating a molded composition comprising at least one powdery metal selected from the group consisting of B, Ti, Si, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Cr, Fe and U and having an average particle size of not more than about 50 .mu. and an acrylonitrile polymer at a temperature of about 200.degree. to 400.degree. C and then calcining the resulting product at a temperature of about 900.degree. to 2500.degree. C in an inert atmosphere.
