ABSTRACT:
Disclosed is a process for improving the electron transporting properties of selenium, or selenium alloys, by (1) providing a source of selenium, or selenium alloy, (2) treating the selenium, or selenium alloy with hydrazine contained in an organic solvent in an amount of from about 0.1 percent by volume to about 15 percent by volume, (3) heating the resulting mixture to a temperature of from about 50 degrees centigrade to about 120 degrees centigrade, wherein there results selenium or a selenium alloy have homogeneously and permanently absorbed thereon hydrazine.
