ABSTRACT:
A process comprises feeding glass mass to the surface of metal melt for forming a glass strip of the mass and cooling the glass strip first on the metal melt and then on a gas cushion. The glass strip is transferred to the gas cushion at a strip temperature from 650.degree. to 700.degree. C.
