ABSTRACT:
A process for inhibiting the formation of mineral deposits from a water using novel N,N'-dialkylureidomethane diphosphonic acids and their alkaline salts having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent separate alkyl groups having one to three carbon atoms or a ring-forming alkylene group having two or three carbon atoms and R is hydrogen or an alkali metal.
