ABSTRACT:
A method of heat treating aluminum alloys of the aluminum-magnesium type to improve the hot workability of the alloys which consists essentially of homogenizing the alloys at a temperature from 950.degree. to 1050.degree. F for from 2 to 12 hours and slowly cooling said alloys to at least 800.degree. F at a rate of less than 100.degree. F per hour.
