ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to hydrotreating with highly active catalysts prepared by incorporating from nickel and a heavy metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, tungsten and mixtures thereof. The final calcined catalysts have surface areas at least about 300 m.sup.2 /g and at least about 70% of the pore volume in pores having diameters less than about 70 .ANG..
