ABSTRACT:
A process is described for directly mono-brominating or mono-chlorinating .alpha.,.alpha.-dialkoxyalkyl or .alpha.,.alpha.-dialkoxycycloalkyl ketoximes in the .beta.-position. Particularly described is the direct chlorination of 2,2-dimethoxycyclohexanone oxime to produce 3-chloro-2,2-dimethoxycyclohexanone oxime, a useful intermediate in the preparation of L-lysine.
