ABSTRACT:
Mixed heavy bimetallic alkoxide-carboxylate compositions are formed by reaction of a heavy metal tetraalkoxide (e.g., a zirconium alkoxide) and a heavy metal tricarboxylate (e.g., yttrium acetate) with elimination of distillable ester by-product therefrom. Hydrolysis of said compositions produced novel bimetallic hydroxy-carboxylates. Calcination of the hydrolysis products give bimetallic oxides.
