ABSTRACT:
A process for drying and compressing wet chlorine gas with concentrated sulfuric acid in which the drying and compressing are accomplished utilizing alternating mechanical compressors comprising a liquid ring compressor and a second compressor. The process improves the efficiency of drying and liquifying Cl.sub.2 while eliminating the cost for drying towers.
