ABSTRACT:
A process for developing a light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one internal latent image-forming silver halide photographic emulsion layer which comprises, after imagewise exposure, developing the light-sensitive material with an alkaline solution of a developing agent in the presence of a compound represented by the formula I which is capable of selectively forming latent images in the inner portions of said silver halide upon development: ##STR1## wherein Y represents an acyl group or a cyano group and said acyl group and the 3-, 4- or 5-position of the pyridinium ring may be optionally substituted.
