ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a process for determining the composition of binary liquid mixtures. This process is characterized in that a solvatochromic compound is added to the sample to be analyzed, the solvatochromism band .lambda..sub.max is determined in the UV-spectrum, the E.sub.T -value (molar stimulation energy) of the solvatochromic substance is calculated and the concentration of the more polar component is determined in accordance with the following equation
