ABSTRACT:
A catalytic process is provided for converting a C.sub.3.sup.+ feedstock containing at least 50 wt. % of C.sub.3 to C.sub.12 aliphatic hydrocarbons to aromatics by contacting the feedstock under conversion conditions of a severity resulting in a conversion of at least about 80 wt. % of said hydrocarbons, with a catalyst prepared by loading with gallium a zeolite having a Constraint Index within the approximate range of 1 to 12 and a silica/alumina molar ratio of about 25:1 to 1000:1, and subsequently calcining the catalyst at a temperature of at least about 700.degree.
