ABSTRACT:
In a process for applying a non-metallic roller coating to the body of a roller, especially for paper machines, a stretch inset (20, 31, 32) with mechanical prestress is applied to the body (10) or to a contact surface (12) of said body but the stretch insert is applied without bonding to said body (10) or to the contact surfaces thereof.
