ABSTRACT:
Ferro-silicon powder after pulverzation to a predetermined grain size is injected, preferably by a pneumatic medium, into molten iron to increase its silicon content, either alone or prior to a desulfurization treatment to make foundry pig iron with a low sulfur content.
