ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a process for treating an elongated, coated substrate, whereby the treatment comprises the application by cathode sputtering of a material containing at least one component and whereby the composition of this material has been chosen in accordance with the difference between the composition of the coating or the surface of the coating as measured and the desired composition of the coating or the surface of the coating.
