ABSTRACT:
A print head for an impact dot printer capable of printing on a printing medium is provided. The print head includes a plurality of print wires and a front end guide having guide holes for guiding the print wires to predetermined print positions. The front end guide has a front surface through which the print wires extend. A guide holding member is provided for holding the front end guide. Lubricant is injected into a back portion of the front end guide to reduce the friction between the print wires and the front end guide during the printing operation. The printer head includes projection members for holding the ink ribbon away from the guide means. The projection members are provided on the front surface of the guide members. The interface between the front end guide and the nose of the print head is provided with structure for preventing the passage of lubricant therebetween.
