ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording material which contains as color former in its color-forming system at least one carbazolylmethane compound of the general formula ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently represents hydrogen, alkyl of not more 12 carbon atoms which is unsubstituted or substituted or alkenyl of not more than 12 carbon atoms, acyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, phenyl, benzyl, substituted phenyl or substituted benzyl,
