Acrylate pressure sensitive adhesives are prepared having improved internal strength by preparing tacky acrylate polymers containing alkoxy silyl alkyl groups of the general formula ##STR1## where R' and R" are either CH.sub.3 -- or CH.sub.3 CH.sub.2 -- and R is one of the group consisting of CH.sub.3 --; CH.sub.3 CH.sub.2 --; CH.sub.3 O--; and CH.sub.3 CHO--, and
