ABSTRACT:
A siloxane modified polyimide resin having high heat resistance and processability is prepared by reacting a siloxane diamine of formula (1) and an aromatic diamine of formula (2) with an aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride of formula (3) in a polar solvent. ##STR1## wherein, R represents ##STR2## R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbons; n represents an integer of 1 to 1000;
