ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of polyphenylene oxide employing a manganese(II) .omega.-hydroxyoxime chelate catalyst is described. The process can be effectively carried out both in the absence as well as in the presence of amines. The process is economical and useful in the production of polyphenylene oxide resins.
