ABSTRACT:
A process for preparing N-alkyl terephthalamates is disclosed and comprises contacting within a liquid phase reaction medium a di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl) terephthalate and a C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 primary or secondary monoamine in the presence of 0.1-10 weight percent based on the weight of the reactants of boric acid.
