ABSTRACT:
Metal oxides such as nickel oxide and/or chromic oxide present as colloidal suspension in a suitable dispersant in an aqueous medium may be deposited by electrophoresis on sheet iron metal anodes. The resulting oxide coatings when reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere at about 1200.degree. C produce an integrated metal alloy coating on iron through interdiffusion.
