ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to stable, fluid magnesium-containing dispersions and the preparations thereof by the high temperature decomposition of Magnesium salts of carboxylic acids to MgO in a dispersant-containing fluid, where less than a stoichiometric amount of carboxylic acid is employed in forming the magnesium carboxylates, based on Mg(OH).sub.2 or equivalent.
