ABSTRACT:
Acicular metal particles consisting essentially of iron are prepared by reducing .alpha.-iron(III) oxide obtained--by dehydration--from acicular iron(III) oxide hydroxide prepared in the presence of phosphate ions and having a shape-stabilizing surface coating.
