ABSTRACT:
4,4'-Dipyridyls are produced by electrolysis of 4-unsubstituted pyridines in liquid ammonia containing a conducting salt, e.g., salts of tetraalkylammonium, alkali metal and alkaline earth metals, for example potassium chloride.
