ABSTRACT:
MRI system10is provided. The MRI system10includes a magnet assembly12. A first cryogen cooling fluid20is utilized to cool the magnet assembly12. A first supply line16communicates the first cryogen cooling fluid20to the magnet assembly12. A first return line18communicates the first cryogen cooling fluid20away from the magnet assembly12. A blower assembly22is positioned between and in communication with the first supply line16and the first return line18. A regenerative heat exchanger36is in communication with the first supply line16and the first return line18. The regenerative heat exchanger36transfers thermal energy29from the first supply line16to the first return line18. The regenerative heat exchanger36is positioned between the blower assembly22and the magnet assembly12. A second supply line28transports a second cryogen fluid26through a pre-cooler assembly24. The pre-cooler assembly24is positioned between the regenerative heat exchanger36and the magnet assembly12. The pre-cooler assembly24transfers thermal energy29from the first supply line16to the second supply line28.
