ABSTRACT:
A power factor is improved using a simplified structure without particularly providing a power factor improving circuit, and high efficiency is obtained. For this purpose, one terminal of a direct-current power source12, from which a pulsating current is obtained, is connected through a choke coil13to one end of an auxiliary coil14cconstituting a converter transformer14; the other end of the auxiliary coil14cis connected to the other terminal of the direct-current power source12through a series circuit of a diode15and a capacitor16; a connection midpoint between the diode15and the capacitor16is connected to one end of a primary coil14aof the converter transformer14; the other end of the primary coil14ais connected to the other terminal of the direct-current power source12through a switching element17; a secondary coil14bof the converter transformer14is connected to direct-current voltage output terminals19aand19bthrough a rectifying circuit18; the direct-current voltage output terminal19ais connected to an input side of a pulse width modulation control circuit20; and an output terminal of the pulse width modulation control circuit20is connected to a control electrode of the switching element17.
