A hybrid vehicle20of the invention is equipped with a power distribution integration mechanism40and a transmission60. The power distribution integration mechanism40is a double pinion planetary gear mechanism constructed to include a carrier45connecting with a motor MG2, a sun gear41connecting with a motor MG1, and a ring gear42connecting with an engine22and to have a gear ratio of approximately 0.5. The transmission60includes a three element-type first change speed planetary gear mechanism PG1, a three element-type second change speed planetary gear mechanism PG2, a brake clutch BC1configured to fix a ring gear62of the first change speed planetary gear mechanism PG1in a non-rotatable manner and release the ring gear62in a rotatable manner, and a brake clutch BC2configured to enable and disable power transmission via the second change speed planetary gear mechanism PG2.
