The device10is a potty training device having a housing with a pivotal seat14positioned over a cavity16for receiving the waste material that is discarded by slidably removing the receptacle18that forms the base of the bowl-like cavity. The housing also provides shelf24or compartment space20for storage of items that can be used by the toddler or child12. Also within the housing are electronic components for recording and playing a musical tune and/or audio clips. A pressure switch30positioned under the pivotal seat14causes a musical tune or prerecorded audio sequence to be played when the child sits on the pivotal seat14. The user12can selectively record tune or audio clip to be played when the pressure switch30is engaged.
