ABSTRACT:
A portable telephone system which utilizes both a VOX and a duplexer network wherein the necessity for the transmission of a continuous signal and continuous receiver scanning is eliminated, thereby conserving power, and wherein the ringing signal is generated locally by the individual subscriber units to prevent contact with the base station until full two-way communication is established, thereby preventing possible interference with other parties already on the line.
