Music data stored in a data card101is input into a portable cellular phone110, and also a plurality of pieces of application software (131, 133) suitable for a music data format defined in connection with the music data is selected by a user and downloaded from a remote server130. According to this configuration, the application software in association with the music data can be downloaded from the server in response to the user's selection.
