ABSTRACT:
A pool entry and exit device is provided for use by non-ambulatory persons and includes ramp structure defining a substantially planar surface extending from a position above the pool deck at a height substantially equal to the height of a wheelchair seat and extending angularly downward to a position at least adjacent to the surface of the water. Support structure is adapted to position the ramp structure above the pool deck. Handrail structure is secured to at least one of the ramp structure and the support structure such that the individual may grasp the handrails and safely enter or exit the pool with a minimum of effort. Structure is provided such that the device may be conveniently stored when not in use.
