ABSTRACT:
Poly(dimethoxyphenylene) composed of recurring structural units of the formula ##STR1## The aforesaid compound can be prepared by polymerizing p-dimethoxybenzene in an inert solvent in the presence of a Lewis acid and an oxidant under reduced pressure.
