ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides novel polymers comprising a plurality of dihydroxy aromatic moieties and at least one polyalkyl moiety. In one embodiment of the present invention, the polymer is formed from about 2 to about 50 interconnected dihydroxy aromatic moieties each having an attached polyalkyl moiety. In another embodiment of the present invention, the polymer is represented by the formula A.sub.x P.sub.y where A is an aromatic dihydroxy moiety and P is a polyalkyl moiety. The polymers of the invention are useful as lubricating oil additives.
